Google Ads & Business Profile

Google, withoutthe guesswork.

For most local businesses Google is where the money is: the search ad when someone needs you today, and the Business Profile they check before they ring. We look after both and show you exactly what each one brought in.

Search ads

The ad people see when they're ready to buy.

Someone typing 'scaffolding hire Bury St Edmunds' into Google wants a scaffolder, today. Search is the one channel where you pay to be in front of that person at that moment. Everything we do on it is about making that click worth the money.

01

Tight keyword groups

Each ad group covers one thing, so the ad can say exactly what was searched for and the landing page can back it up.

02

Negatives kept up weekly

The searches you don't want to pay for, removed every week. 'Jobs', 'courses', 'free', the wrong town. It's the least glamorous part and it matters most.

03

Landing pages that match

If the ad promised a quote in 24 hours, the page says so, at the top, with a form. We build or fix these as part of the job.

Three kinds of business

What a first campaign looks like.

Same discipline, different shape. These are examples of how we'd structure the first month for the businesses we work with most.

A scaffolding company

Search campaigns split by job type and town, a Business Profile with progress photos from the drone, and a quote form that goes straight to the yard manager's phone.

The first month

Four weeks, no surprises.

Audit & tracking

Week one

Access, audit and tracking. We read what's already been running, fix conversion tracking so calls and forms actually count, and write up what we found.

Build

Week two

Build. Campaigns, ad groups, ads, negatives, Business Profile put right, landing page fixed or built. You see it all before it goes live.

Launch & first report

Weeks three and four

Live. Daily checks in the first fortnight, search terms reviewed, budget moved to what's working. First one-page report at the end of the month.

Reporting

One page a month. Cost per lead, booked jobs, impression share, profile calls and directions, wasted spend removed, and what we changed. If a number went the wrong way we say so, and we say what we're doing about it.

Questions

Google, plainly.

Who owns the ad account?

You do. We work inside your Google Ads account and your Business Profile as a manager. If we part ways, everything stays with you, including the history.

How much should we spend?

It depends on the job and the town, and we'll give you a straight number after the audit. As a rule, a local service business needs enough to be seen every day on its main searches, and not much more than that to start.

Can you just do the Business Profile?

Yes. For a lot of local businesses it's the highest-value thing on this page and it's a fixed monthly fee.

Do you use Google's automated campaigns?

Where they earn their place. Performance Max is good for Shopping; it's a poor fit for a scaffolder who needs the phone to ring. We'll tell you which is which.
